I have been in love with reading and writing my entire life. I went through a phase of writing poetry when I was little (writing odes to deceased goldfish), worked an arts and entertainment beat for Penn State’s weekday newspaper in college, and have, since 2007, been in the magazine world as a writer and editor. In January 2016, I stepped into the world of academia, teaching journalism at Sierra Nevada College for a year before taking a break to spend more time with my kids. I continue to write on a variety of topics, from arts to architecture, summer to snow, movies to moving around. I especially love taking on unfamiliar topics, as the research and interviews allow me to learn so much as I go.
