I am a bibliophile and verbivore who has been in love with reading and writing my entire life. I went through a phase of writing poetry when I was little (writing odes to deceased goldfish), worked an arts and entertainment beat for Penn State’s weekday newspaper in college and have, since 2007, been in the magazine world as a writer and editor. In January 2016, I began teaching journalism at Sierra Nevada College. I love working with the students and seeing as their stories evolve and improve. In the meantime, I continue to write on a variety of topics, from arts to architecture, summer to snow, movies to moving around. I especially love taking on unfamiliar topics, as the research and interviews allow me to learn so much as I go.
